With 55,079 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, India’s tally past 16.3 lakh

India has registered 55,079 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The total tally of COVID-19 infections in the country now stands at 16,38,871.

A total of 35,747 coronavirus patients have lost their lives.

There are 5,45,318 active cases while 10,57,805 people have been cured/discharged.

The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients further improved to 64.54 per cent, according to Health Ministry data.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Thursday said a total of 1,88,32,970 samples have been tested up to July 30 of which 6,42,588 samples were tested yesterday.
