One policeman martyred, three terrorists killed in Jammu and Kashmir encounters

Three terrorists were killed on Friday in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and  Kashmir’s Shopian district, while in a separate gun battle still underway a police personnel was killed and another injured in Budgam district, officials said.

Police have also recovered arms and ammunition from the site of encounter.

Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet said, “03 unidentified #terrorists killed. #Incriminating materials including #arms & ammunition recovered. Search going on. Further details shall follow.”

The encounter between security forces and terrorists started in Shopian’s Badigam on Thursday night. 

Security forces launched the cordon and search operation on the basis of specific information about terrorists presence.

As the security forces zeroed in on the spot, the hiding terrorists fired at forces, triggering an encounter.

In a second ongoing encounter at Beerwah in Budgam district, SPO Mohammad Altaf lost his life and Manzoor Ahmad was injured.
