MDH owner Dharampal Gulati dies at 97 

Dharampal Gulati, the owner of the MDH Masala brand, passed away on Thursday. He was 97.

According to the reports, Gulati was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi for the last three weeks and suffered a cardiac arrest early this morning.

In 2019, Gulati was conferred with the Padma Bhushan award.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia paid tributes to Dharampal on Twitter.

“Dharm Pal ji was very inspiring personality. He dedicated his life for the society. God bless his soul,” Kejriwal tweeted.

Manish Sisodia in a tweet said, “India’s most inspiring entrepreneur, MDH owner Dharm Pal Mahashay passed away this morning. I have never met such an inspiring and lively soul. May his soul rest in peace.”

The owner of MDH was born in 1923 in Sialkot, Pakistan. He moved to India after Partition and opened a shop in Delhi’s Karol Bagh and expanded his business from there.
