Chaos at Kabul airport; At least 5 killed

At least five people were killed at Kabul airport as thousands of Afghans tried to board the fights, leaving the Afghan capital on Monday.

It was not immediately clear how the victims died. Whether they were killed by gunshots or in a stampede. Earlier, reports said US troops fired in the air as a large throng gathered on the airport’s tarmac.

After the Taliban overthrew the Western-backed government in Afghanistan, people have been making frantic attempts to flee the war-torn country.

After Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani fled the country, the Taliban swept into Kabul on Sunday, bringing an end to a two-decade mission by the US and its allies to reshape Afghanistan.

Taliban taking over the presidential palace, triggered fear and panic in the capital.
